Art Competition - Make a Model of a Bird!
BackAt Combe Down, we use the parable of the mustard seed ‘If you have faith as small as a mustard seed; nothing will be impossible to you’ Matthew 13: 20 to encourage the children to be resilient and aspirational. “It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds perched safely in its branches.” Luke 13:19
To represent this vision, in the log cabin, we have a beautiful art instillation showing the golden mustard tree surrounded by birds sheltering in the branches, as we hope the children feel safe and happy at Combe Down school.
To add to the diverse range of beautiful birds in our branches already, we would like to open this out as a competition to all children; therefore children are invited to make a 3D bird model to hang in the branches of our tree.
All entries will receive a certificate of participation and all bird entries will be hung with pride in the log cabin. We encourage birds of all shapes, sizes and colours, made from any material (although they do need to be light enough to be able to be hung on a wall bracket with invisible sewing thread!)
Please bring your bird model to the school office no later than Wednesday 2nd November.
Our vision is to encourage all within the school family to branch out into the community, grow together with inclusivity, nurture knowledge for aspiration and plant the seeds of learning.
