Reminder - PE
Week ending 17th May 2019:
It has been a very busy and productive week, with our Choc Box project in full flow. We have been very impressed by the children stepping up to the roles and responsibilities within a real life chocolate company. They should all be proud of their work and we hope they have enjoyed talking about their project at home. Thank you very much to the parents and other family members who came in to help with the chocolate making.
We are back to a normal timetable next week. In English, we will complete our work on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Key vocabulary includes: apostrophes of contraction, commas, dashes, brackets and parenthesis.
In Maths, we will focus on co-ordinates, and translating and reflecting shapes. Key vocabulary includes: co-ordinates; grid; plot; translation; polygon; vertex; axis; reflect; negative number and reflection.
We have Forest School next Tuesday, 21st May in the afternoon. Please bring in a complete change of clothes, including suitable footwear that day. PE kit can NOT be used. Be prepared for dry or wet weather and include a waterproof coat.
Homework this week is a maths activity focused on negative numbers. The questions are glued into the Homework Books, alongside a sheet of squared paper for the answers. This is due back in school by Wednesday 22nd May. Please also continue to log onto DoodleMaths and complete your Daily 6/7/8... We expect a minimum of three sessions a week. Our next Spelling Test will be on Wednesday 22nd May.
PE next week will be on Wednesday, with Mr Lett, and Thursday with Mrs Hawkins.
Maple 2 will have their class photo next Thursday, 23rd May so please make sure all children come to school in appropriate uniform. Maple 1 will have theirs on a different day, date to be announced.
Finally, the school disco is being held in the evening of Thursday 23rd May. Please make sure you return your slips to the office as soon as possible.
Have a great weekend.
