Reminder - PE
Week ending 22nd March 2019:
Next week in Maths we will be exploring the perimeter and area of simple and compound shapes. Key vocabulary includes: square, rectangle, compound shape, length, width, perimeter and area.
In English we will continue our non fiction unit on discussion texts . Key vocabulary for this unit includes: discussion, argument, balanced, conjunctions, modal verbs (demonstrating degrees of possibility eg would, could, might) and pronouns.
Homework this weekend is a grammar worksheet on determiners which is stuck into homework books. We are now expecting at least three DoodleMaths sessions a week as part of our homework allocation. In addition, there will be our regular spelling test on Wednesday 27th March. Don't forget to keep working on your book presentation. Well done to those who have already presented.
PE will be on Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday will also be an outdoor session so please make sure you bring in appropriate PE kit such as leggings or jogging bottoms so you don't get too cold.
Next Friday, there will be an Easter Expressions morning, with lots of creative activities on offer. Miss Gander is on the look-out for wool (especially shades of yellow, brown and grey) and sturdy cardboard (such as delivery packaging) and Mrs Raby is collecting tissue paper (any colour appreciated.) If you are able to donate any of these materials, then please bring them to our classrooms by Wednesday next week.
Have a good weekend,
The Year 5 Team.
