No Nuts Reminder
I should like to remind you all that we have a strict NO NUTS policy here at Combe Down Primary School.
We have children in school (and this year, in Reception) who can suffer with a severe allergic reaction to peanuts/nuts. This reaction may result in anaphylactic shock if peanut/nut products are ingested.
Since this condition can be life threatening, we are asking for your help in minimising the risk to these children by:
a) NOT giving peanuts/nut products in school lunch boxes.
b) NOT giving peanut butter sandwiches, other spreads containing nuts such as Nutella and snacks/bars containing nuts or labelled “may contain nut traces” in school lunch boxes.
c) Children must NOT share their lunches.
d) NO NUTS in any cakes baked for class cake sales (this includes ground almonds and walnuts)
Please be aware that, when sending children in with birthday treats to share in class, there must be NO home baked items at all.
Due to the severity of the allergy, it is important that all parents carry out the suggested measures to minimise the risk of any allergic reaction.
We thank you for your co-operation.
