Year 4 Rainforest Experience with Bristol Zoo!
As part of our Rainforest topic for Terms 3 & 4, we have planned for Bristol Zoo to deliver an outreach session in school on Wednesday 23rd January 2019. Subjects covered in the session include:
- Features of rainforests, including weather and locations
- How animals are suited to the rainforest habitat
- Human use of rainforests and protecting rainforest
The session will also include safe-to-handle live animals and the zoo have asked us to ensure that all children know in advance that they must be quiet and calm around the animals. If any children are deemed to be behaving inappropriately, they may be asked to leave the classroom and therefore will miss out on some or all of the experience.
We are running two sessions, one for each class, and due to logistical issues, this will mean a slight change to break and lunch timings on this day. These are the timings for each class’s session:
- Beech 2: 10.15 – 11.15
- Beech 1: 11.15 - 12.15
In order for the visit to go ahead, we are asking for a voluntary contribution of £3.25. The costs are based on all children in the year group contributing to the visit. If there are not enough contributions to make the visit viable, then it may be necessary to cancel.
