Year 3 Trip to Museum of Bath at Work
On Thursday 14th June, both Year 3 classes will be visiting the ‘Museum of Bath at Work’ for a tour and a drama workshop based in a factory setting during the war.
Cherry 1 will visit the museum in the morning, leaving school at 9am and returning at roughly 1pm. They will eat a packed lunch at the museum. Cherry 2 will leave school at 11.30am and return in time for the end of the school day. They will also eat lunch at the museum. Children in both classes will therefore require a packed lunch and perhaps an extra drink to keep them going! Both classes will also require parent helpers to accompany them on the museum visit. Please let the class teacher know if you are able to help.
The cost of the trip will be £7.50 per child. This payment consists of the workshop fee and coach travel. The costs are based on all children in the year group going on the trip. If there are not enough contributions to make the trip viable then it may be necessary to cancel. Please pay by Parentmail +Pay.
We would very much like both classes to come to school on June 14th wearing Evacuee Outfits, so that the experience feels more authentic! The children can remain in costume all day, so there is no need to provide school uniform. (Please keep Evacuee Outfits safely as they will be worn again at our World War Two Stay and Learn in July – more details to follow!)
It would be fantastic if the children could also bring a World War Two style lunch on the day of the trip. Lunch suggestions:
- Cheese, jam or marmite sandwich wrapped in a paper bag or greaseproof paper
- Salt and shake crisps
- Apple or pear, fruit cake or plain cake or biscuit (no nuts please!)
Many thanks again for your continued support,
Mrs Plummer and Mr Roy
