Year 2 to Bristol Aquarium
Our current topic is Wonderful Wildlife and next term our focus will be on ocean habitats. On Thursday 8th June we will be visiting the Blue Reef Aquarium in Bristol.
We will be walking to meet the coach and need to leave school at 8.50am. The children must therefore be in school by 8.40am at the latest.
We have yet to spend our cake sale money so we are delighted to announce that we will be using this to subsidise the trip. In order for the trip to run we are asking for a voluntary contribution of £10.00. (The cost of the trip is £12.00 per child and we will subsidise this by £2 per child). The costs are based on all children in the year group going on the trip. If there are not enough contributions to make the trip viable then it may be necessary to cancel.
As lunch will be later than usual please provide your child with a substantial morning snack, as well as a water bottle. Your child is eligible for Universal Free School Meals so we are able to provide a free packed lunch, if you order one on the slip. A waterproof jacket may also be needed! It is helpful if these items can be carried in a small backpack.
We will need 3 parent volunteers from each class. We would like to give an opportunity to parents who have not been able to accompany us before, so will prioritise these volunteers. We usually have more offers of help than we need, so we will let you know which parents will accompany us. As ever, we are always grateful of your support.
Please return the permission slip & contribution in an envelope with your child’s name, class and “Blue Reef Trip” on the front to the office by the morning of Friday 12th May. If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to come and talk to Mr Bird or Miss Lucas.
Best Wishes, The Year Two Team
