Year 1 visit to Bristol Zoo
As part of this term’s topic, we are keen to take the children to Bristol Zoo. Each class will participate in a workshop run by the zoo’s education team. This will be interactive and they will get a chance to handle some animals too. There will be additional supervised free time to give the children a chance to look around the rest of the zoo.
In order for the trip to run, we are asking for a voluntary contribution of £11.30 per child, which includes coach travel, admission and the workshop cost. The costs are based on all children in the year group going on the trip. If there are not enough contributions to make the trip viable then it may be necessary to cancel, or use our PTA money to cover the shortfall (meaning less fun resources for the children later in the year). If you are not able to afford the full cost of the trip, we would appreciate part-payment (this can be done on ParentMail or via cheque).
Children will need to wear their school uniforms and bring a packed lunch* and a re-sealable drink (no cans or fizzy drinks) in a rucksack. It is essential that they all have suitable outdoor wear (coats, hats, gloves) for the time of year. *As your child is eligible for Universal Free School Meals (Yrs R-2 inclusive), we are able to provide a packed lunch free of charge, if you order online/return your slip by the end of Friday 18th January.
To enable us to get to the coach on time, children will need to be in school to register at 8.50 am prompt. We aim to return by 3.15pm.
Please speak to us as soon as possible if you have any questions.
