Space Dome Visiting Foundation Stage
On Friday 15th February the Foundation Stage are lucky enough to be having a Planetarium come into School for the children to explore. The Planetarium visit will conclude our topic on Space and the Solar System.
This is what the Space Odyssey Project say about the Planetarium that will visit School:
“High-resolution images, movies and sophisticated computer simulations are projected throughout each of Space Odyssey’s three different sizes of inflatable dome – above, behind and all around the audience – to create a breathtakingly immersive and inspirational learning experience! Since 2004, Space Odyssey has established an enviable reputation for amazing astronomy and space science shows but is now delighted to offer fabulous biology-based shows, too! Simon Ould, an experienced Science Teacher and Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society lead every one of Space Odyssey’s fascinating planetarium presentations”.
Space Odyssey do charge Schools for the usage of their domes, so in order for this activity to go ahead, we are asking for a voluntary contribution of £5 per child. The cost is based on all children in the year group taking part. If there are not enough contributions to make the trip viable then it may be necessary to cancel, or use our PTA money to cover the shortfall (meaning less fun resources for the children later in the year). Please pay online (using ParentMail) by Friday 1st February 2019.
If you are not registered on ParentMail, please return the slip with your contribution, to the school office, by Friday 1st February 2019 in an envelope with your child’s name, class and ‘Planet’ on the front.
As always, please speak to us should you require further information.
With best wishes,
The Foundation Stage Team
