Concert at St Luke's Church

Year 4 has been asked to perform in two very special Christmas concerts, and we’re letting you know about them in plenty of time so that you can put the events in your diaries now!

Christmas Concert at St Lukes’s Church, SATURDAY 2nd DECEMBER 7.00pm – approx 8.30pm

The retired director of music at Monkton Combe Prep School runs an ‘Bath All Comers’ orchestra, and they hold an annual charity concert at St Luke’s Church. Last year they invited the junior choir at King Edward’s School to perform and this year they have asked if children from Combe Down would like to come and perform.

We are very pleased to take part in this event, because not only will the children have a valuable performing experience, but they will also have a great opportunity to listen to some live orchestral music! Parental permission is required for your child to attend on the evening of the concert (see letter). We will need most of the children to attend this concert to make it feasible, and will need you to bring and collect your child on the evening, which will end at approximately at 8:30pm. We suggest that, if you’re not attending the concert yourself, you could perhaps arrange transport together with other parents. The children will perform a couple of Christmas presentations, which we’ll be rehearsing soon in class. You will be able to attend this concert, which will finish with festive refreshments. There will either be reasonably priced tickets available on the door or a charity collection at the end of the concert.

With best wishes,

Ms Paterson (Year 4 teacher and Performing Arts Leader), Miss Bush and Mrs Thompson (Year 4 teachers)
